About Mastering for Vinyl You can also specify changes to be made relative volume levels and equalization for each track can be adjusted. Because cutting masters for vinyl is an art, we recommend you authorize our engineer to use his expertise to optimize your recording while mastering; there is no extra charge for these services. Better still, book a Studio session to work with our engineer just as our record label clients do. Unless you are an experienced vinyl producer, you should order a Reference Disk which can be played in your own listening environment; then, you may specify equalization or level changes to be made as we cut the final disk master. If you want to make changes in the sound after Test Pressings, you will incurr the cost of re-cutting, re-Plating, and new Test Pressings. THE MASTER YOU SEND US can be in almost any professional format. It should be in the correct sequence with the amount of silence you want between tracks, usually 2 to 5 seconds. A list of track titles with timings is required. Be sure your recording contains only the program you want reproduced and that there is no noise of any kind at beginning, end, or between tracks. If you're supplying a DAT original, it must have numbered start ID's beginning with the number "1" for the first music track. Do not record tones on the DAT. If your master is analog, leader the tracks and provide alignment tones of 1kHz, IOkHz and 100 Hz; at "O" VU. A cassette is generally not acceptable as a master. Do not send us the only copy of your Master Tape! |
