Recording Studio 003 is located in a 5000 square foot facility in
New York City's Greewnwich Village.
The studio is a new facility, opening in the spring of 1995. The control
room measures 20 feet wide by 23 feet deep with a 10 foot ceiling height. The
live room is 28 feet deep by 20 feet wide. It has a ceiling height of 11
feet. Two iso rooms are situated next to the studio. The first one is 7
x 8 feet and designed for guitar amp isolation.
The second room is 14 x16 feet with a ten foot ceiling. This room has been designed for acoustic instruments isolation. It is perfect for recording vocals during basic tracks.
There are two lounges, a private lounge for the clients use and a second
common lounge with a full kitchen.
The control room is equipped with an MCI JH 636 VU mixing console. The console
is automated with a Disc Mix 2 SMPTE based hard disc system. The multitrack
tape formats are (1) Otari MTR 90 II analog 2" 24 track machine and
(3) Tascam DA 88 digital machines in a 24 track rack. The studio is stocked
with a full compliment of Outboard and Midi equipment. Tracking is enhanced
by the large selection of vintage and AAA custom mic preamps and Eq's. Microphones
by AKG, Neuman, Sennheiser and others are in stock and in new condition.
Loud speakers and amplifiers systems were custom designed by AAA using TAD
and Dynaudio drivers with Bryston amps installed in a massive solid concrete
front wall. This solid wall along with the deep diffusive rear array provides
uncommon imaging and low frequency response. This room is very true in its
sound reproduction. The studio has a fine selection of instruments including
guitars, a Ludwig drum kit and a Hammond C3 organ.
A complete equipment list details all of
the studio's equipment.
Studio 003 is set up for a variety of recording situations. The MIDI equipment
with its dedicated Macintosh system allows for quick easy programming, sampling
and tracking. It is the perfect setup for R&B programmers needing to
do MIDI dumps to 24 track. Studio 003's real strength has been as a live tracking
room. The large size of the main studio is excellent for drum recording.
The studio coupled with the two iso rooms makes for flexible recording of
loud instruments used in rock music without microphone bleed. Rock, R&B vocalists
and Jazz artists have been locking this room out for their tracking dates.
The private atmosphere and fun working conditions have made their recording
dates smooth and productive.
The technical installation of the facility is on a par with the best rooms
in NYC. Mark Richardson and Rob Paustian have worked at all of the finest
rooms in NYC and have brought all of their engineering and technical expertise
to this room. Maintenance is a major concern here. They know how important
it is for the room to perform flawlessly. The on site technical support
assures this.
Studio 003 is available at the right rate! The room is at $85 per hour including
all the equipment. There are no hidden costs here. Introductory lockout
rates of $950 per day are being offered through April.
